    Hi,

I am sitting FM in March and i am unsure which order is best for the strategic papers.
Would it make sense to sit AFM next as FM will be fresh in my mind, or should i sit SBR & SBL before the options?

    Thanks
    Lisa

As you did so well in AA (congratulations!) you may be considering AAA? If so, you should sit SBR before (or with) AAA, so this may affect your decision.

    Thank you!
I am going to sit the advanced papers for taxation and financial management as this will be more relevant to my job roles, would this change that decision?

    Hi Jennie,

I’ve just passed AA too, are you sitting FM in March? Which options are you thinking of taking?

    Hi,

Yes it does make sense to give AFM next as FM will be fresh in your mind.

But for that you ideally also need to make sure that your concepts of FM are sorted since, it goes without saying, the knowledge of AFM is drawn from FM.

And would personally recommend to give SBL as the last exam. It is a case study… Drawing the matter from all the other papers. So it would be better to get with the rest of the papers and come to SBL at the end. But this is not a cast-iron rule.

For the papers in between you should surely consider what Kim has said.

    Hope that helps.

I am sitting FM in March too. I’m thinking tax and then undecided between PM and FM. I didn’t enjoy studying AA so highly unlikely to do AAA tho passed AA with a good mark. I’ve no idea which order as done all chronological so far

Sounds like we are in the same boat 🙂 I did well in AA but do not want to sit AAA, I have also taken everything in chronological order so feel a bit lost now. I think I will go for AFM next then make the decision whether to take SBR after that. I will take the advice to take SBL last

I was in the same situation a month ago. I sat FM (my last F paper) at Dec 18 and my plan was to go with AFM next as it is upgrading the same knowledge. The problem was that it turned out to be a lot harder paper than i thought and going out of the exam room I didn’t feel like I had a chance to pass…
So there was a very good chance for me to have to resit FM and since FM and AFM are at the same date and at the same time, there was no way to do both…. so I had to choose another option… at the same time SBL and SBR are new papers and I want to leave that for the end (hopefully there will be more past papers, examiner’s reports and study materials available).
All that narrowed my options to the second optional paper, in my case AAA…

My only thought is not to do AFM next just incase the march sitting doesn’t go well. As I’ll start studying for June straight after march. Where are you based?
