Please could you advise me on the option papers to go for?
I have written P5 twice and failed on both occasions which has torn my confidence apart.
At the moment I’m not sure if I should go ahead and try it again or just pick two new papers.
Thanks for your help.
February 10, 2013 at 5:53 am #116935If you have 2 exams left – you should anyway try for 2. If just 1 left – what would they do if you try for 2 optional papers, i wonder?)
February 10, 2013 at 9:46 am #116984Nickxopt – I have no problem at all with you answering as many questions as you want on the general forum. However, when a question is specifically addressed to the tutor, it would be sensible to allow the tutor to respond rather than take the responsibility upon yourself
February 10, 2013 at 10:01 am #116994Doyin, 2 option papers from 4 – hmmmm. Interesting that you’ve failed P5 twice. P6 would never be my personal choice – but there again, you and I are completely different people. For some people ( you may find this hard to believe ) “tax” is their favourite three letter word ending in “x”. But not for me – mine is the Sarbanes Oxley abbreviation of Sox.
Ok, so I’m down to 2 from 3. Again, a personal choice, I would go for P7. It requires a lot of self-discipline ( as do all the ACCA exams! ) and an ability to identify the core issue of a question and then to set out a reasoned and well constructed answer. Some would claim that it comes down to an ability to pass motions of a male bovine variety. Maybe it is and it wouldn’t be the first time that that accolade had been aimed at me.
So now I’m down to picking 1 from either P4 or P5. I know little about either in terms of their technical content but, I suppose, given your history with P5, maybe you should consider a switch to P4.
But all of the above is just MY personal thinking . I can’t do your thinking for you 🙂
