Hi Sir,
First of all i want to thank you for your brilliant lectures .I am planning about to sit in march 2017 f6 examination, but now i m realising that time is very short for march sitting.I m on half way to finish lectures nd then i will start kit practise.I need ur advise regarding this situation, should i sit in march 2017 sitting or postpone it to june2017 sitting.I want to ask which finance act will b used for june 2017?ThanksJanuary 14, 2017 at 12:53 pm #366460The problem if you defer until June is that the examinations from June 2017 to March 2018 will be based on FA 2016 whereas of course the March 2017 exam is based on FA 2015.
Given that you are about half way through your studies most of what you have done so far will be Income Tax and it is that area that has seen the most changes in FA 2016 so my advice initially is to persevere with your studies to March.
Clearly I do not know how much time each week you are able to spend studying but if you make a conscientious effort with your studies I believe that you would indeed be able to properly prepare yourself for the March exam.
I assume from what you say you also have an exam /revision kit from one of the approved providers and it would be a good idea to integrate its use with your studies by doing a selection of the questions in each area of tax once you have completed the chapters in your OT studies along with the working of the practice questions. Any of the more complex questions involving an understanding of more than one tax will need to be done at the very end of your studies.
Hope this helps and good luck with your studiesJanuary 14, 2017 at 9:36 pm #366566Thank you so mch Sir for your advice. I really appreciate you nd I will try my best.
