Dear sir, I am going for F5 & F8 exams this december, I have just finished text book revisions. now I have started the new exam kits (Till june 2015) for both papers and I am confused how to start every question. My question is sir before answer the kit question can I see the text book section relevant to that question or I should see the answer of the relevant question in the exam kit??
I realy need your professional expereince regarding kit revision sir,,,,
( I am full time student and I want to finish each kit at least for two times)Thanks in advance sir
October 17, 2014 at 5:50 pm #204757You are right in wanting to finish the exam kit at least two times!
What I would suggest is that you revise a topic quickly (either by looking again at your text book, or (probably quicker) watch the relevant lecture on here (they are all free of charge). Then attempt all the questions in the exam kit on that section. Attempt all of the MCQ’s – then check and learn from the answers. Then attempt all the long questions for that topic one by one. Do as much as you can and then after each question check with the answer and learn from it. Then try the next question and so on.
If you can’t understand the answer, then look back at your text book (or back at our lectures). If that doesn’t help then ask on Ask the Tutor.
When you have dealt with one section, then repeat everything for the next section.
Once you have done that, you should then be in a position to start working through the exam kit again, but this time you should be getting much more of them correct.
Do not worry too much about the odd little mistakes – remember you only need 50% to pass. When you check answers you should be also asking yourself – would you have got at least 50% on each part of the question, and if not then why not 🙂
Hope that helps!

October 18, 2014 at 2:15 pm #204846Hello Sir.
I am sitting for F5 exam this December.
I have the practice and revision kit for exams up to June 2014. Do i need to get a new kit? are there changes in the new kit or i can continue practicing from my previous kit?
I am basically only worried about the mqcs.October 18, 2014 at 7:49 pm #204878It would be best to get a new revision kit.
The syllabus has not changed, but the new kit contains lots of MCQ’s to practice on.

Aren’t there any available mcqs online which i can practice? I don’t have the kit with me and I am studying on my own . Please help me out here, how do i practice?
October 20, 2014 at 9:49 pm #205171There is a test on here (you can find it from the main F5 page). The test is just on MCQ’s and it selects questions at random from a large bank of questions. So every time you attempt the test you are likely to be asked different questions.
However you must get hold of a Revision/Exam Kit – they contain lots of questions (both Section A type and Section B type, and question practice is vital.

I am having trouble with the PV charts, I don’t know how to construct them.
I am doing the Example 6 of Chapter 8 provided by opentuition notes. Can you please tell me how to solve it?October 22, 2014 at 5:37 pm #205436I go through the example in detail in my free lectures on this chapter.
(I do hope you are not studying just from the Course Notes. As is written in them, they are notes used in the lectures and it is in the lectures that we work through and explain the examples, and expand on the topics. The notes themselves are certainly not enough – if you do not watch the lectures then you must use a Study Text from one of the approved publishers. If you do watch the lectures then you don’t really need to use a Study Text.)

I am studying from BPP’s study text, just using these notes as a guide since I don’t have a teacher. I do however, have a few doubts here and there.
October 22, 2014 at 7:47 pm #205466Our notes are meant to be used with the lectures – not to be studied on their own.
You asked about the PV charts. There is an answer at the back of the notes, but I cannot write here everything that I go through in the lecture.
If you understood the BPP Study Text then there should be no problem. Otherwise, you are going to have to watch the lecture.
(If you have any specific problems with the explanation in the lecture then please do ask, but I cannot simply type out the whole lecture here.)
