Where to place the appendix?

In the question regarding audit risks and preparation of briefing notes, the model answers contain the appendix at the end of the answer – but how will I judge the length of my answer in the exam?

Would it be okay if I place the appendix at the beginning of my briefing notes?

It certainly WOULD be fine to place the appendix at the start of your answer – and NOT even a note to explain why
