Possibly a daft question but this is my first sitting with the new style of paper so I was wondering.

I know they won’t be looked at but do we get any rough paper for them or do we have to use the answer booklet and have a page of scruffiness (at least in my case!) at the beginning?

    Thanks!

You can use the answer booklet, and you can use the question paper as well.

During the 15 minutes reading time, you can be doing workings on the question paper – but you aren’t allowed to actually record the answers on the special page in the answer book until the 15 minutes are finished.

For workings in the answer book, do write at the top of the page: MCQ workings.
They won’t be looked at, but it will save the market wondering what it all is (because a human marks Section B :-).

Finally, make sure that you start each question in Section B on a fresh page – don’t try and squeeze two questions on to one page 🙂

Thanks John – just have to get to grips with the wordy ones now. No matter what I do I can’t seem to say exactly what they are looking for. Just finished a mock and all the points lost in Section B were discursive. It’s not a failure to remember or understand I think, more missing the point of what is being asked, and I can’t figure out how to fix that!

    Hello,

Do each of part A, B and such of section B required to be started in a new page?
Like Q1 A on Page 1, Q1 B on Page 2 even if Page 1 was half empty.

Also, if an answer stretches beyond 1 page, is there a need to write the question number on each page?
Eg, Q1A, stretches to 3 pages, at the start of page 2 and 3 some comment required regarding question number?

    Thanks,
    GB
