    How are you studying?

If doing classroom learning, check what’s actually available at your local centre as not all 4 are always available.

P5 has similarities with P3 so if you’ve just done that it could make sense to look at that. P6 is hard as the syllabus is so big (1200 pages text book) but has some calculations. At this level all papers are more theory than calculations.

I am defo choosing P5 as one as a fair chunk of the P5 syllabus is the same theoretical models as P3, you just gotta ensure you practise P5 past exam papers and revision kit to the point where you don’t make the mistake of answering P5 questions in a P3 style, that is why many students fail. P5 is about performance management so the questions are about how to measure and improve performance, not the analysis of the company’s strategic position etc.

I hate tax so I would never do P6. Even F6 was a killer for me.

Look at the syllabus of the optional papers and you will be able to decide if you would love to choose them or not. That’s what I did. Plus I am good with performance management anyway, I used to get A’s and B’s at uni for this module so it’s not even a question for me whether or not to sit P5. After P5 I will do P4.

Once someone told me to always choose the subjects I feel interested in or I am good in, and not to choose based on pass rates.
