What basic knowledge do i require to pass p7?
December 2, 2014 at 11:32 am #215939Wow, Mrs M! That’s a big question and I’m not sure I have enough years left in my life to do an answer justice!
It seems to me that, over recent years, the examiner is asking more and more matters that require a solid P2 level accounting knowledge.
I was reading the comments from students yesterday on how they found yesterday’s P7 exam and it seems that, yet again, a sound knowledge of P2 IAS / IFRS was needed.
But you also need imagination, you need an appreciation of the way the world works and an ability to think laterally. You need to shake off the blinkers that restrict innovative thought.
Your question asks for basic knowledge – F7 and F8 knowledge is basic. But all the ACCA papers are cumulative so even matters from F6 taxation, F4 law, the management papers of F5 and F9 – they could all be brought in at some time or another into this higher skills level of P7
I’m not sure that that has helped you in any way but, as I said at the start of this post, that’s a BIG question.
