Hi, Teacher
I have a little bit problem on BPP kit 337 sec C question titled ” BUS Co.” This question appeared on sep/dec 2015 (amended). i have problem on question 1 where it says to calculate ‘overall satisfaction’ percentage for each operator.
as far as i know the formula for finding the weighted average is the sum of all the variables multiplied by its weight, then divided by the sum of the weights. but, the solution did not divide. can u explain me why?
ans given: Bus: (0.4 × 0.67) + (0.32 × 0.8) + (0.28 × 0.82) = 75.36%
This is a standard expected value calculation (as explain in my lectures on risk and uncertainty).
By all means divide by the sum of the weights. Have you tried adding them up? 🙂 🙂
