Tell me weather walkthrough test is for testing control or for substantive procedures?
A walk-through test follows a transaction through the accounting system. It is used to verify the auditor’s understanding of the accounting system. So, it’s really a pre-cursor to audit tests (particularly tests of control). You can’t do effective audit tests if you are attempting to perform those tests on a system that’s not actually being used.
