I read your lectures notes and watched your lectures as well.I am using Kaplan latest book for study purpose.I found two different ways of calculating the material price planning variance and would like to know which one would the examiner prefer the one with revised standard quantity or actual quantity?
Furthermore, I consulted other books for references but found confusing results.
Help please!Th away that is preferred by the examiner is the way that I do it in my lectures (and although you must have missed it, I do actually say this in the lecture!!!).
It is also the easiest way of doing it.
I have no idea why you should waste your time consulting other books. My lectures do it the way that the current examiner prefers. If you want to do it the other way then fine – you will still get the marks, but it does take more time.
