Can ABC and Variance be combined
If so then how am i going to comment on overhead as each overhead has different cost driver
Yes it can be combined, but if it is then you would be required to calculate the variance for one particular overhead by comparing the actual cost for that overhead with the standard cost using ABC for that overhead.
There is an example of this in our free lecture notes.
when should the idle time effective standard cost per unit be calculated
“Is it when company has policy of 5% or any other % of idle time of normal working hour”
if question does not indicate anything about the “idle time effective standard cost per unit”
actually there are two way of calculating this variance you have shown in your lecture
You calculate it is the actual idle time is different from the standard % idle time.
