Hi all,
I was wondering if someone might be able to provide their opinion on this based. Would it be all right to use the P7 (UK) revision kit to prepare for P7 (INT), or would it be advisable to get the INT one? I accidentally ordered the UK one, and before returning it was just wondering if it would really make a big difference?
Thanks!
August 14, 2014 at 1:18 pm #190077I believe the only difference that you will find is the differing requirements of FRS compared with IFRS. The examiner tests your auditing ability when faced with accounting problems so a thorough knowledge of standards is always helpful.
Why not check out the June 2014 exam, n=both variants, and see if you can spot the differences.
If, as a result of that comparison exercise, you decide the differences are too great, then get that UK revision kit in the post as soon as possible.
Personally, I doubt that you will find much difference
It can only be a matter of time before the ACCA scraps the UK variant and uses just International in the same way they are now doing for F8

Thanks very much for your reply! I’ll definitely have a look and compare the June 2014 exam to see if I can spot anything.
Thanks again 🙂
August 14, 2014 at 7:00 pm #190134You’re welcome – it seems to me that they’re almost interchangeable.
Another thing you could do is check the p2 variant papers for International and UK / IrelandThe relevance to P7 is that the P7 examiner tests you on auditing tricky accounting problems.
I suppose really for this latter aspect of preparation you would be better to compare the P2 examiner’s answers for International compared with UK / Ireland rather than comparing the questions
If you were to check a P2 revision kit, there tend to be about 10 – 12 alternative answers in the back of the revision kit for the UK students. Basically, the revision kit is International but for those 10 – 12 questions the UK deal with one or two issues differently
OK?
