    Dear gromit,

I simply want to know whether we are permitted to use certain abbreviations/short hand form for certain frequently used and lengthy words, such as Government (Govt). Or i may be penalised for not being professional enough in presentation.

    Thank you!

It’s better if you can avoid this – especially if there are porfessional marks. However, if really pressed for time I would probable use some abbreviations.

I wanted to ask the similar thing. Would it be OK to use abriviations in calculations/workings like c/f, FCFF, PAT, PBIT etc?

FCFF? Perhaps define it the first time it’s used.

FCFF free cash flow to firm
FCFE free cash flow to equity

That’s how we were writing in collage. Sometimes in tabular workings there is no space for long words. But such simple things like PAT examiner would understand?
