I have been looking at the Q&A for December F8 exam on ACCA website and found something very worrying.

In the exam Q3 relating to Mercury Motors asks:

“Explain FIVE potential indicators that Mercury Motoring Co is NOT a going concern.”

I remember finding this question odd in the exam as the whole case study points towards the fact that Mercury is a going concern, nonetheless I gave an answer which tried to look at points which were NOT a going concern.

My real worry is I have just checked the answers on the ACCA website and it is as though ACCA have prepared the answer as if Mercury IS a going concern and all the answers point to the same suggestion??

“Up to 1 mark per explanation of why this could indicate going concern problems”

I really hope I am mistaken, but has anybody else noticed this or am I going crazy?? If this is a misprint of question or answer this is a major error on part of ACCA and could affect hundreds of exam results??
