Hi Guys,
I was wondering whether I couild get some advice regarding ACCA UK Exams. I studied accounting and finance at university, and I left getting seven exemptions. So in June I’m going to do F7 and F8. (Audit and assurance and financial reporting). I don’t have a firm that will pay for my exams, and money is hard up at present so any money I earn at work is going towards helping out my parents.
A good friend of mine gave me her textbooks from the December 2009 and June sittings. I was wondering whether they would suffice for this year? Or should I buy the most upto date text. If i had the money I would buy the most upto date textbook in an instant.
Any advice will be much appreciated.
Thanks
Bernard

I would strongly advice never to use a book more than a year old. The syllabus or exam pattern may have changed. Besides, kits are updated every year based on what they think the examiner will examine that year.
I don’t think there was a change in f8 syllabus. But im not very sure about f7. Please borrow more recent books.
Go to tuition providers after the teaching hours and ask the leaving students. Students who are currently doing professional papers would have more recent books. Check out forums to find ex students in your area. Use dec 2011 books. Not older than that.
April 13, 2012 at 3:45 pm #95909Or you could use Opentuition notes and use the textbooks as a backup?
Any differences you find – rely on Opentuition.
Just a suggestion 🙂 - AuthorPosts
