Thanks for clarification.
My suggestion to ACCA – is that we Students get proper certification showing the equivalence (i.e.) UK Bachelors degree and UK Masters degree. This will increase ACCA student changes of employment. As in most cases from my personal experience persons who hold a degree as stated on paper usually get employment quicker and the salary are different too. I am sure that i am not the only one which have exprience this. I was told personally by employers that i don’t have a degree and do not get paid for a degree, and that Hurts and is Discouraging.
In many parts of the World Employers are still ignorant when it comes to ACCA qualification, and secondly the competition is tuff. Therefore I am appealling to ACCA to please give Students a UK Bachelors degree for Level 2 and UK Masters degree for level 3 etc.
The Oxford Brooks Degree in Finance is optional and many Students like myself cannot get a committed mentor. As its over 2 years i am trying to get a mentor for my project so that i can get my physical DEGREE .
I Strongly belive, ACCA – UK Bachelors degree for Level 2 and UK Masters degree.for level 3 will increase My/Students chances of employment.

Try another University like Anglia Ruskin for your Bachelors. You may qualify to do your MBA after level 2 completion.
September 6, 2013 at 6:39 pm #139998Hi Josian,.
I have a friendly advice for you,
The first error you made is you start doing Acca without Knowing what ACCA is.
I will try to clarify things for you, i hope you you get it.
Acca is not a university but a Global Professional Body. If you fancy having a degree you need to attend a university, only universities offers Bachelors and masters Degrees. No one in there right mind will compare a degree with Acca or I would say no employer who understand education systems will say an accountant with a Degree is better than Acca part qualify or fully qualify.
I am in the UK but no employer here will pay for the accounting/finance staff to do a degree, as far as i know MOST will prefer either ACCA OR ICAEW OR CIMA.
I do not know which country you are in but in this country I am a degree is standard education for any manager.
I do attend university to do the ACCA, i attend class with some of the master students, the do the internal university exam and do their projects but We the acca student attend extra revision Classes to do the ACCA exams.
almost half of Acca students in the Professional level have already had their bachelors degree and then come to do Acca. But guess what some of find it very difficult to pass even one single paper, i know someone who have give up doing Acca because it’s difficult to pass compare to their Degree.
The ACCA have make life easy for student who want a degree as well as The professional qualification. When you finished the F papers then you can write a project with oxford brooks UNIVERSITY for a Degree In applied Accounting, so this option is available to you. if you can pay for it You can do it online with Kaplan, FBT,LSBF and so on. you will have a mentor with the course.
Also when you become a Member you can Do the ACCA global MBA.Main Different between professional Qualification (ACCA) and MBA.
In The develop world, e.g UK you cannot be an Auditor if you are not a member of a professional Body(ACCA& ICAEW),
even thought you go to university and have a doctorate degree in accountancy and finance you are not qualify to be an Auditor or tax adviser. so if you need a practicing License to be a professional accountant you have to to member of Acca or ACA (icaew).
A Professional is a member of a profession which requires you to pass their Exam and follow the rules of the body and fulfill the Continuous professional development ( CPD in UK and CPE in USA) every year.
if yo do not fellow the rule, you can loose you license, then you cannot practice again, but you can go and work in businesses. An MBA holder just pass their exams and projects, get the MBA then move on to do what ever the want without the university checking whether they doing the right thing or not, that is to say you have not obligations to the university again.
So you cannot have a practicing License unless you join acca/aca and do the professional exams.
So In accountancy ACCA is Better than MBA as you can do more with Acca membership than an MBA.
so just because the country you are in do not get it (yet) does not mean the biggest global Professional Accountancy Body should turn into a university by offering Degrees.
If you have Accountancy firms in you country especially one of The Big 4 (Deloitte, price water coppers KPMG,Ernest young) go and ask for advice.
well i know if you have a degree and join one of the biggest accountancy firms in the world ( The big 4) they pay for you to do ACCA. so tel me does those employers knows what makes the best accountants that the experts.
The biggest advantage is, ACCA is Globally recognize (at least in the Develop world and most developing countries) so you can go anywhere to work without being doubt About you qualifications. but degree can be give by any university can be good or even not up to standard. I have had about a country where Degree holders applied for a cashier job, because so many have it but not jobs and at the same time accounting and finance job are advertise for those who Have AAT or studying Acca. Please note that i am in no way criticizing Degrees and degree holders as no education is small. degree is very good or even excellent. i would love to have an MBA when i finished ACCA but i just want you to understand why ACCA and not Degree. also why ACCA do not do Degrees but professional Qualifications.
i hope i make sense, if i said any thing offending, my apologies as it was not intendedSeptember 9, 2013 at 2:55 am #140131Thanks sweetheart. I wll try but i will finish AccA. I just want to give those foolish employers what they want and make my money.
September 9, 2013 at 3:04 am #140132Hello Dear:
I did understood what i was getting into befor i stated ACCA Just to say in my part of the world there are many employers that don’t know about ACCA and is making life hard for ACCA students,
This is very furstrating when you have a student loan to pay plus children to feed.
Sorry u did not understand.
September 9, 2013 at 9:11 pm #140229My pleasure,
I could really understand your frustration, but I just want to make you understand why Acca do not do Degrees. anyway just keep it up, one day you will be able to do the oxford brooks degree and the global MBA. - AuthorPosts
