a)Recommend the procedures that should be performed in order to report on a particular matter
b)explain the audit evidence that you expect to find in the audit file
I assume for questions of type a) the procedures need not be explained in much detail ie.not necessary to mention why we are doing a particular procedure(which assertion are we testing) but important to mention what should be done.
And for questions of type b) we need to mention ‘what should be done’ and ‘why we are doing it’
Am i right?
a) correct – I cannot argue with that
b) you’re way off target …. I think
“‘what should be done’ and ‘why we are doing it’”
The audit evidence that should be on file needs to be explained as to which assertions it is helping to substantiate. Your answer reads like it’s telling me what you would be planning for this audit. That’s not what I need to know!
I want an explanation of the evidence that should already be on the file
Isn’t it tricky!
