The UNCISG applies to which of the following contracts?

a- the buyer is to receive title to the goods just as soon as the purchase price has been paid into seller’s bank account

b- the buyer is to pay money to the seller in exchange for the transfer of ownership of the goods for, unknwon to the seller, the buyer’s personal use.

c- the buyer, the national goverment, is to acquire the goods to be used in the war effort against the invading neighbouring state

d- the current owner agrees to transfer title to the goods for no consideration, the goods are surplus to the owner’s requirement.

My proposed answer was “a” as its most logical:

    goods for money consideration.

The correct answer points toward “b” :

doesnt apply to contracts for personal use, unless seller knows about it…but here seller is unaware.

So I’m not sure why the b option might be the right answer, or is it a mistake at your end.

    Ignore discussing c and d.

I believe there is a misunderstanding here … ‘doesnt apply to contracts for personal use, unless seller knows about it…but here seller is unaware.’

Where the goods that are the subject of the contract are for the personal use of the buyer, the UNCISG doesn’t apply … UNLESS! the seller is unaware of the buyer’s intended personal use.

Does that now make more sense to you?
