Hi Ms. Smith,
Hope you’re well.
I need to know how important is the UK CCG & Audit Committee topic. It is a rote learning kinda topic and I gather everything is important but if it is a topic that is tested frequently I need to make a plan to revist it every now and then to make sure it is second nature to me and I’m not spending much time on it in the final month of revision.
Also, I don’t want the other areas of the syllabus, which are much more interesting, to suffer if I don’t have a proper plan.
June 28, 2023 at 4:58 pm #687496It depends which exam you will be sitting – INT or UK.
June 29, 2023 at 2:20 pm #687512I’ll be sitting the International version. The Kaplan study text says areas that are relevant for the UK exam are under the heading “UK Syllabus”. The UK CCG was not under it but was shown separately as a good example of CCG.
June 30, 2023 at 11:35 am #687526You will find the substance of what you need to know is covered by Chapter 2 in our notes https://opentuition.com/acca/aaa
I suggest you make your own notes on anything else that you spot when working through past Qs and As – you aren’t going to be asked for mere knowledge in the exam
June 30, 2023 at 12:06 pm #687528I’m comparing the OT notes with the study text just to be aware of additional knowledge.
Yes, I do realize that I cannot expect to just produce a rote learned answer. I reckon the scenario would give an indication of a deficiency that I’d have to identify.
But to be aware of the regulations I guess I’d have to spare around 10 minutes to go through them (my notes) periodically to have them at the back of my mind and not worry too much about it.
Would this approach suffice?
June 30, 2023 at 12:35 pm #687532Your example of how it might be examined is a good one – this is assumed knowledge of AA.
But I can’t really comment on a specific approach to study – it’s whatever suits the individual.
If you have still to sit SBL then any time spent on CG as a topic will not be wasted (!)
June 30, 2023 at 1:27 pm #687536Understandable. Thank you for the heads up! 🙂
June 30, 2023 at 3:18 pm #687537You are welcome!
