Regarding the assessment of service organisation’s control, what is the purpose of obtaining Type 1 report where we can obtain a Type 2 report that provides a description of the efficiency of internal control rather than just describing the internal control implemented (type 1 report)?
A type 2 report may not be available due to cost constraints – they are rather more expensive than type 1 reports
I could see the situation where a type 1 report is provided every year and a type 2 report provided every, say, third year
Does that satisfy you?
