Given total sales unit = 6300 + (30 x Quarter no)
Quarter 1 : -50
Quarter 2 : +10
Quarter 3 : +130
Quarter 4 : -90
Find Quater 5
how do i do this ??
Have you watched the free lecture on forecasting?
Since 5 is the quarter number, put 5 in the formula for the total sales units. This will give you the trend. Then adjust it by the seasonal variation for quarter 1 (since quarter 5 is the first quarter of the next year). i.e. subtract 50 from the trend.
Surely the book in which you found the question also has the answers (unless this is your homework)? You should use this forum to ask about problems you have understanding the answers, not simply to expect us to provide answers!
No. I attended an exam 2 days ago for F2 and failed. This is one of the questions that I do not understand. Thanks for your help by the way 🙂
You are welcome 🙂
