Dear Mike,
Hope you are doing well.
I just had a small question regarding why would a company choose to transfer the excess depreciation charged from the Revaluation Reserve to Retained Earnings?
Could you also give me a practical reason for it?
Finally thank you so much for clearing out my previous queries and I thank opentuition because of which I’ve become an affiliate

Congratulations on becoming an affiliate – onwards and upwards!
Why the annual transfer? Why should retained earnings take the hit of additional depreciation simply because the entity has chosen to revalue the asset?
