    Hi,

    I’ve started my RAP for the first time recently on topic 8 – “an analysis of a company over a 3 year period”.

    While researching today I found something interesting on google. The “Resubmission checklist” asks you:
    “Have you used the most up-to-date financial statements for review if you have based your RAP on topic 8? ”
    https://www.obusubmissions.co.uk/app/images/documents/RAP%20checklist%202012-13.pdf

    This is the first i’ve heard of any requirement to use a recent date range. The date range for my company of choice is the 3 years to 31/03/2013 and it won’t technically be the most recent financial statements on submission in May 2014.

    Has anyone submitted a topic 8 RAP and had any issues with their choice of date range? Is it a problem if you choose an older range?

    Thanks in advance for any helpful replies!

    Okay. I see in the current guidance now it clearly states use the most current financials available. Presumably this is to dissuade people copying older successful RAPs.

    I guess my question still stands. How old is reasonable. On submission in May 2014 the most recent financial statements for my entity will be a half year report to 30/09/2013. Presumably I’m okay to use the 3 years up to the most recent full annual report to 31/03/2013?

    Thanks @smoke I’ve justified my choice of years (most recent annual financials available) in part 2.

    @suleman
    I don’t fully understand your question. If you are asking how your Bsc Level is calculated it is based on a combination of the grade your RAP receives and papers F4 – F9.

    The papers that is shown is F1 – F9 unless you came under the FIA/CAT route, then it would be F4 – F9 + Your Thesis

    @Martin

    Info Pack says latest not any specific years. If financial statements for 2014 are not published due to audit or any internal issues then use 2011-2013. However, remember for ration calculation you will use 4 years ratios and then you will compare:

    1. 2013 vs 2012
    2. 2012 vs 2011
    3. 2011 vs 2010

    Thank You.
