Hi Everyone,
I am planning to give F8 in June 2014.
I want to know from your experiences that is it sufficient to follow BPP Lecture, course notes and revision kit to clear this exam or do I must do Study Text instead of Course notes.
Have to choose between study text and course notes of BPP.
Thanks in advance.
Kind Regards
NidhiDecember 12, 2013 at 9:09 am #152673I wouldn’t recommend BPP study text for F8. The language is difficult – in not way to understand it, but to remember and then write again.
Although the Revision KIT BPP is awesome as for all papers.
February 16, 2014 at 5:02 am #158936I do not suggest you use BPP study text and revision kit for F8. Not the language is difficult, but the content is very long-winded .
As far as my experience , these will drive you crazy .
Make good use of course note and past year papers.February 21, 2014 at 11:03 am #159689Hello. I am facing a similar problem as well.
I have a BPP Study Text & Revision Kit and as described, the study text is pretty dull and taxing to follow.
I also have course notes given by my lecturer but I feel that the notes don’t appear comprehensive.
So, I’m in situation where I feel I don’t have a reliable study material and wish to seek for advice.
Meanwhile, any opinions on OpenTuition F8 course notes?
Tq.
February 21, 2014 at 11:46 am #159691@Nick123 why don’t you just read few chapters of OT f8 notes and you can decide for yourself 🙂 anything you learn in the process will be useful 🙂
and DO listen to live F8 lectures, they are more exciting than reading a study text..

February 21, 2014 at 3:17 pm #159720I have study text from London School of business and finance(lsbf) study text and revision kit. Revision kit explains everything in bullets & charts and study text offers whatever is needed in the exam. I liked them both.
February 21, 2014 at 3:47 pm #159722then what study text do you guys suggest for F8?
February 21, 2014 at 4:12 pm #159725Obviously Bpp Study text and Kit is the best to pass F8 in first attempt.
February 23, 2014 at 6:35 pm #159888Thank you @opentuition_team for the recommendations and others for their comments (whether dedicated to me or in general).
I did go through the OT notes for F8 and personally find it too brief? Then again, I am in no basis to comment since this is my first time being exposed to audit so whether a material is comprehensive or not, I’m really not sure hence intending to get feedback.
Anyway, I’ve decided to just make use of all available resources that I have (hahaha) since there’s no harm. Maybe it’s time I stop being stubborn over sourcing the “right” material…
So, I will be using BPP Study Text & Revision Kit, course notes and OT notes whenever applicable. Good luck everyone!

April 9, 2014 at 1:23 pm #164871Is there an online website to download the study text and revision kit?
Are there any major changes in f8 2010 to 2014 in the text book?
