    Dear Sir/Madam

I have a question concerning the OBU (BSc Applied Accounting degree).

I am contemplating whether to embark on the OBU course or not.

I hold a BSc degree in Actuarial Mathematics and Statistics from a UK university already.

However I realised after completing my Actuarial Mathematics degree that Accounting is for me. I am currently studying ACCA.

My question is would you recommend doing the OBU (BSc Applied Accounting) degree with ACCA? Will it enhance my job prospects in accounting in the future?

    Thank you.

Probably not required in your case as a first degree and an ACCA qualification are probably sufficient and another BSc is possibly superfluous unless you really want to do it.

However what I would suggest is that you consider the OBU Masters Financial Accounting instead. (There is supposed to be something on the Oxford Brookes Website but I can’t find it). It takes longer than the bachelors degree being a post-graduate qualification but would add value to your CV and sit very well with the ACCA accounting qualification.

I suggest that you contact acca@Brookes.according.uk but stress you want details about their new Masters in Financial Accounting as you already have a BSc. and ask if they can send the link to it.
