Dear Sir,
I have a question related to the times when the claims should be done.
In my study materials, there is often a (small) section that mention when each tax claim should be done.
Eg: “by the 31 jan following the first anniversary of the tax year of the loss” for loss reliefs for commencement of trade.
I do not think I heard you mentioning this in your lectures. Is it an important point we should be tested on and should learn?
Thanks a lot for the help,
Anne
The administration chapters are self study without lectures, for as you will have seen it’s a series of rules and dates that need to be learned by the student. I would suggest that it would be the last area of your studies and should only be done after you have dealt with and are competent in the preparation of the various tax computations and the rules that underpin them. It is likely that some of these rules and dates will be tested as with the new style of objective testing questions every exam can include a wide syllabus coverage
