Sir, can you explain the difference between audit client and assurance client?
Assurance is the general term for any type of assurance, such as an audit, an assurance that a budget is not obviously wrong, an assurance about a proposed takeover target’s apparent health.
The term ‘audit’, in the context of thks paper, almost always means an audit of historical financial information ie an audit of the financial statements.
