    Hello guys,

I am preparing my RAP as was wondering if I could use a company that is part of a group to do the RAP or if I have to chose the entire Group. Most of the companys I want to base the RAP on are part of a Group. Could you please advise me? Many thanks

    Kind Regards

    Hello Smoke,
Many many many thanks for your advice…. Definitely don’t want to choose a group! I started and left it!!! What a nightmare! If only I knew it sooner.. Anyway, what about a company that is part of a group and just focusing on that company? Do you thibk that would be risky as well? Thanks for your quick reply!!!

I do not understand what you said about focusing on a group means failure. Most companies are part of a group if tesco v sainsbury is chosen aren’t these companies part of a group? Apologises if I misunderstood the answer to the question.

    Hi all
I am also worried about this, im confused with group structrue and problems that arise with PEST, Five forces & SWOT analysis. I have been considering Morrisons and possibly comparing with either Tesco or Sainsbury.

It seems to me that finding a ltd company not within a group structure is very difficult !!!

Also are there any issues if a company is based in several countries or is it better to choose a company based solely in one country i.e Morrisons(UK)

Just to add a question to the above…

When choosing a company… does it have to be from an english speaking country or can I choose one of my large local standalone companies. I am wondering due to the language of the sources of data, financial statements etc…

Does anybody have experience with choosing a local company?

    Thanx!

    Citing the RAP:

“Your RAP must have a single organisation as its focus. However you do not have to work for an organisation in order to choose it for your RAP. If there are substantial external information sources for you to undertake a RAP then you may not need to contact individuals within your chosen organisation. If you are working for an organisation, then you may, if you wish, choose your own organisation as the basis for your RAP. However be sure that necessary internal information will be made available to you and can be included in your project report.”
