Hi Trephena,
When performing my ratio analysis am I also to investigate the reasons for changes in the ratios of my comparator company? Or should I use the ratios of my comparator company just for comparison purpose with my selected organization without investigating what caused the ratios of my comparator company to change?October 9, 2014 at 9:29 am #203947@gwain – I have detected a trend in markers seeking better evaluation and analysis. Although you focus on your main company they expect you to know something about the comparator. So when discussing differences in their performances they expect more than just obvious statements that can be seen from the graphs. Try to explain a little WHY one company has out performed the other e.g. are there any SWOT/ PESTLE factors that help explain this?

When applying PESTLE or 5 Forces for example, can I mention things that have happened for the past three years or only the final year of my analysis? Many thanks
AmarainOctober 10, 2014 at 7:16 am #204064@Amarain – you asked this question in ‘RAP – part 3 findings & Analysis’ and I answered it there. Your review is for 3 years so you should bring in any relevant factors that have impacted on the performance in that period. It is also feasible that something even earlier may even have influenced the performance during more recent years e.g. the opportunity to enter a new market or develop a new product are long term decisions that may initially not show much if any return during the early years but contribute significantly 5+ years later. I suggest therefore that you read the CEO and Directors’ reports from all of your years of reference and don’t obsess quite so much on the exact time factor
