When we look at the answer,

Horan has a payable of 5.22
Massie has a receivable of 11.57
Armstrong has a payable of 9.36
Giffen has a receivable of 3.01

    Which means

We can settle all payment and receipt by

    Armstrong pay to massie 9.36
    Horan pay to massie 5.22
    Massie pay to Giffen 3.01

Shouldnt the payment to each respective party be like i have written above ?

I really cant seem to figure out with the help of ur lectures as well

Your first table is the wrong way round. Horan is owed 5.22, Massie owes 11.57, etc..

The examiners answer follows the instructions given in the last sentence of the question.
