june 2011 (tinkerbell ) question 1 there i have face a difficulties that case states that on 2nd para ;; once the ordered entered an acceptance is automatically sent to customer by mail /email confirming the goods ordered and a likely despatch date .
acca examiner printed answer is like that ; test of control ; inspect a sample of orders to confirm that an order acceptance email / letter has been generated objective to ensure that all orders are recorded completely and accurately .
i cant link test of control with objective of test .
That test would do relatively little to ensure that all orders are recorded completely and accurately. The email is just a copy order details that have been entered. Any control would depend on the customer reading the order and seeing errors, or enquiring why no confirmatory email had been received. So, rather a weak control, but I suppose it helps.
