I am sitting the exam in September and have printed the technical articles. I am wondering if there are any in perticulater to focus on. Most have not been updated since April.

Historically what role do these play in the exams as it is my first time sitting this paper.

    Thanks,
    Grainne

Historically? Question 4 in the exam is based on “Current issues” and those technical articles are primarily about current issues!

However, your examiner has stated in the past that he will examine each new IFRS at the earliest opportunity. Now, what’s the latest IFRS to be issued and was it issued in time to be included in the June exam? IFRS 15 and, no, it wasn’t in time for June 2015.

It’s my guess that it will feature in the September exam!

As for any that I think you could miss …… you make that decision for yourself! Personally I would read them all since September 2013

    Ok?

    (IFRS 15!!!!!)

Thanks Mike, the last date on them seems to the April/August 2015 date. The format of the articles change at the IFRS 9 one. What is the last Article since Sept 2013?

    Thanks,
    Grainne

I would advise that you read all and pay close attention to the last four written. that was what helped me in when i sat last December.

When I mentioned September 2013, it was not intended to imply such a a degree of precision that anything before should be ignored and anything after should be studied carefully!

It was an indication, but if you see something interesting before, then read it. And equally, if you see something thats not particularly interesting after September 2013, then leave it!
