Hi, I am confused on the problems caused by perishability and simultaneity; I feel like these two characteristics cause same problems; am I right? And I do not know what problem “no transfer of ownership” could cause.
With goods you can look back and examine a product after it has been delivered – you cannot do this in the same way with services because there is nothing afterwards to examine. It has perished.
With goods you can examine the product before it is delivered to the customer. You cannot do this with services because they are delivered and received at the same time – simultaneously.
The fact that there is no transfer of ownership does not really create a problem, but is one of the characteristics that makes services different from production.
