Dear friends,
I`m thinking about choosing P6 as the option paper. Unfortunately the tax legislation of my country is not examined by ACCA.
Therefore I need to choose the foreign country from the list of ACCA`s P6 options.
My job is not concerned with the tax legislation of foreign countries. Neither am I going to immigrate abroad.
Thus I may choose any country from the list which is easy to study and, of course, to pass 🙂
If you have been in the similar situation, please, tell me which country you chose and why.
ACCA describes P6 as follows:
“To apply relevant knowledge, skills, and exercise professional judgement in providing relevant information and advice to individuals and businesses on the impact of the major taxes on financial decisions and situations.” (ACCA website)
My advice is as follows;
(1) Since you have laid the principles of Taxation relevant to your jurisdiction at F6, then choose a P6 that is as close to your law as possible. Example is Zimbabwe and South Africa; both are Roman-dutch based and therefore share the core laws and case studies.
(2) Alternatively flow with the principle of globalisation and choose the most “international” jurisdiction.
I hope this is helpful.
OOOr just do 2 from the other 3 option papers ?
