I would like to ask if it is possible to skip P1 and go for P2 that includes some ethics issues in scenarios. I want to know whether I should take P1 first to get a knowledge of it or I can take P2 and answer the questions anyway by using common sense perhaps.
Any advice will be much appreciated.
Many thanks.
July 22, 2014 at 8:11 pm #179406Common sense could do it – but why not try the Ethics module in the mean time? You’re going to have to do it sometime before you are accepted as an affiliate and I always suggest it should be done before or as part of P1.
But if you’re doing P2 before P1 (and why not?) then try the ethics module as well
July 23, 2014 at 5:25 pm #179529Many thanks for your response. The reason for taking P2 before P1 is that it would be too much to take on at the same time. P2 seems to be a difficult paper with a wide syllabus and before I saw P2 syllabus I was considering to take P1 and P2 together but not anymore.
If ethics module helps me with P2 exam then I will have a look at it.
I was wondering whether P1 knowledge would help me to answer P2 questions better than without P1 knowledge.
Many thanks.
July 23, 2014 at 9:40 pm #179549sir Mike can u tell me that which is best study text book for p2 bpp or beckers?
July 24, 2014 at 6:26 am #179554Hi Soooooooooooraj
Very simply, no! There’s no way that I am going to promote one publisher over another. They are all three (including Kaplan) ACCA approved publishers.
In addition, think about this ….. some people like reading Shakespeare, others don’t. Some like Tolstoy, others prefer Dostoyevsky. Some like BPP, others prefer Beckers while still more prefer Kaplan.
It’s a matter for you to decide. See if you can borrow from other students a copy of their texts from different publishers and then you can make your own comparisons and draw your own conclusions

Dear Mike,
I just passed F4 to F7 in June, so I am wondering which combination is good for me, F8 F9 P1 or F8 F9 P2, I am thinking to take P2 before P1 because I just finished F7 and probably it’s better to continue Corporate Reporting study in Dec?
Thank you in advance and looking forward to have your reply.
Best Regards,
RubyAugust 27, 2014 at 10:40 am #192502Good idea to tackle P2 whilst F7 is still relatively fresh. There is the appearance of ethics within the P2 paper so it would help you to deal with the Ethics Module as part of your P2 preparation
Yes, F8, F9 and P2 is ok. My only concern is whether you have enough time to tackle three papers and do them and yourself justice but, if you feel that you are able, then go for it.
August 27, 2014 at 11:10 am #192505Thank you very much for your reply, Mike.
I am a full time student right now and will do my best to tackle them.
Thank you and Open tuition, just passed four papers in June, three of them attended school, F5 studied on the OpenTuition.
I recommended this website to a lot of my classmates and friends.
Sorry for always grateful but shy to express 😀
Wish all the best.
August 27, 2014 at 12:16 pm #192510Ruby, there’s no need to be shy! You’re among friends 🙂
And thanks for recommending us to your student classmates and your friends
If you’re a full time student, why not think about F8, F9, P1 and P2?
Worth considering?
August 27, 2014 at 11:41 pm #192588Hi Mike,
Actually, I was thinking to challenge four together, but I am worried that I could not balance (pass) them all in Three months( The new semester start on 1st of September and I am helping to teach some kids for two hours each day on weekday now) Also, I heard F8 is not an easy paper as well.
I knew it’s better to take P1 and P2 together. Ah…A little bit struggling, but worth considering….
Thank you very much
August 28, 2014 at 2:50 pm #192657If you feel that you don’t have the time, why not try F8 with F9 followed by P1 with P2 (and maybe P3) with just the two options left for December 2015.
Personally I would probably go for all 4 in December 2014 with just 3 more for June 2015
In February 2016 you’ll be dancing in the streets 🙂
but it could have been August 2015!
