    Hi,

I wondered if you could tell me the syllabus weightings of the key areas in P3.

Eg Project Management section F seems lengthy, whereas the IT section E is relatively short in comparison.

I realise there may be no official weightings – but I wanted to split my study time to represent the topics coverage. If you could give me some rough %s – that would be great! 🙂

    Many Thanks

    If you go here:

you can download an analysis of past papers that will give you a feel for the important areas.

Hi, thank you for your help and your link to past paper analysis…. However I don’t feel that a breakdown of topics examined per sitting helps me to get an idea of weighted allocations. Especially when I’m not familiar with which syllabus area each topic actually belongs.

After much searching – I think It is likely that the % weightings per area are not published for P3… But with you being a P3 tutor can you suggest roughly how much emphasis to put on each syllabus section from A-H
    Eg.
IT section 15% of syllabus /learning outcomes
Project mgmt 20% of syllabus/learning outcomes

I would really appreciate this – even if it is just approximations.

    Many Thanks 🙂

There is no weighting. All sections are given equal importance by the examiner and may be subject to questions being set. Do not focus on weightings and instead try to understand the entire syllabus. Remember, this is not a multiple choice setting where questions are more likely to come from one topic than another. This is a level 3 writing paper, where the examiner expects you to be operating at the level of a senior accountant, so act accordingly.
