    Hello Gromit,

How much is covered in the f8 notes and lectures from the whole ACCA syllabus? i know i have seen the comment before saying that the notes together with the lectures are a complete course, but can you give an estimate in terms of % of how much is actually covered in the whole detailed syllabus and study guide so that i know lets say 10-15% i have to refer to the study text and don’t miss out anything at all

i would really appreciate your response

    Kind regards,
    Mike.

I can’t really give you an estimate. Is coverage just a relatively brief definition of a term or several pages worth of explanation? There is nothing of substance that is not mentioned and explained.

Students get good passes listenint to the lectures, reading the notes, trying out MCQs PLUS doing questions from recent exams. The last element iis very important.

What i mean is are there certain topics which we have to refer to the study text for more details/depth not in the OT notes and lectures?

None particularly come to mind. Study texts, of course, cover everyrhing in more depth. That’s why they are very thick books and why we call ours ‘notes’.

i see. but is it important to refer to the study text or your notes and lectures are all that is needed to cover the syllabus?

if so, will i then be able to solve any type of questions in kit or from past papers comfortably?

If you ignore the text and learn what’s in our notes, lectures and past questions you should pass comfortably.

i really do prefer your notes and lectures only. but if i only use your notes and lectures and pastpapers from 2010- 2015 is it enough to score around the 80’s?

frankely speaking i would gladely be happy with just a pass. but inorder to get a first class in the OBU degree i really have to do very well in these papers, some of my papers i have not done so well so i have to compensate by doing well in the remaining ones

i know practising pastpapers is important but then will i be able to get in that range of marks or atleast in the lower 80’s?

I don’t know – I have no idea how good you might be at F8.

Achieving 80% in F8, no matter how you study is difficult. However, other students have obtained high marks just using our resources and past questions.
