    Question 18.1 from BPP practice
    Hi Mr John

    At the first error :

They said cash received of 333.000 was CR to ordinary share capital as 330.000

So there are 2 mistakes in this one ?

First , instead Dr cash , they CR Cash Second , they put the wrong value there ?

How should I understand this one ?
    Regards

The question does not say that they credited cash – it says that they credited share capital!!

So the only mistake is that they credited share capital with 3,000 less than they should have done.

    Thanks for your reply ,

Can you pls help me question 18.7 ?

    My workings is :

    DR : 836.200
    CR : 819. 700

So the opening of suspense account will be 16500 on DR side ?

    1. 5100 ( DR) on suspense account
    2. 9900 ( DR ) on suspense account

    – I just don’t understand the answer in the book . why do they minus 5100 and 9.900 ?

And why do they minus 5.100 and 9.900 , but they still put the word ” Debit ” next to it ? ( the same with 16.500 – They put ” credit ” next to 16.500 ) . What does Debit and credit mean ?

Im just so lost with the answer in book . Thanks

The opening balance is 16,500 on the credit side (so as to make the total debits equal the total credits).

Please watch the free lectures because this is all explained in the lectures and you cannot expect to me type them out here.
