l met such a question
a suspense account shows credit balance of $130.Which of the following could be due to?
A Omitting a sale of $130 from sales ledger
B recording a purchase of $130 twice in the purchase account
The coorect variant is B
l can understand why it is
but omitting a sale of $130 from sales ledger(A)
here, the result is not that debit side is more than credit side??
and thats why don’t the suspense account create credit balance???
The sales ledger is not part of the double entry.
Errors that only occur in the sales ledger do not affect the trial balance and therefore do not result in an entry in the suspense account.
