I am sorry that you failed.

It very much depends what your mark was. If you got a mark in the 40’s then I would attempt again in September while things are still fresh in your mind.

If, on the other hand, you got a much lower mark, then I would postpone in order to give yourself more time for studying.

Have you watched my free lectures working through a few past Question 1’s? Because I discuss the approach to the questions as well as the technical content.

    Hello Mr John,

I have a similar question here.

I failed P4 in June 17 sitting with 43 marks. Is it advisable for me to resit for P4 in Sept 17 along with P7 (1st sitting)??

GT0707: I would resit in September if you will just be taking P4 and P7. I assume that you have a Revision Kit from one of the ACCA approved publishers, and that you have worked through all of the questions? If you have, then it might be worth buying one from one of the other approved publishers so that you have different questions to practice.

Shilpamary: Your first post seemed to suggest that you were taking P1 and P3 in September. If so then I think taking P4 as well (so three papers) is too many. I would either leave P4 for the time being, or else take P4 but leave one of the other papers.

    Thanks for the reply Sir.

Actually my tutor provided me with all the past exam papers (2006 to most recent) and we worked out the questions during lectures. For exams – I practiced all the questions we worked in class.

Planning to do the same.. along with your guidelines this time

    Please advise. Thank you

OK, but be careful with some of the questions – partly because there have been some changes to the syllabus over the years (such as the removal of EVA) and the exams before 2010 were set by a different examiner who had a much different style than the current examiner. That is why is it good to use a current edition of a Revision Kit.
