    Hi

    1) As there was a question in Sept/Dec 17 in which a scenario was given and question asked that describe substantive procedures the auditor should perform to obtain sufficient and appropriate evidence in relation to Comet Publishing Co’s purchases and other expenses.
Here would it be correct to write that “Recalculate discounts and sales tax applied for a sample of purchase invoice to ensure accuracy.” Although this was NOT mentioned in examiners answer

    2) As there was a question In Dec 14 (hummingbird) and September 16 (heraklion) in which a scenario was given and question asked that describe substantive procedures the auditor should perform to obtain sufficient and appropriate evidence in relation to Hummingbird Co and Heraklion Co revenue.
Here would it be correct to write that “Recalculate discounts and sales tax applied for a sample of sales invoice to ensure accuracy.” Although this was NOT mentioned in examiners answer

1 I think this is covered in point 4 of the answer to (d) for you to make up your own mind.

    2 As above.

I am answering no more of your questions on substantive procedures – it just ends up marking an answer by stealth. You will have to rely on the model answer and your own judgement from now on.
