Please share any major submission advice or problems in this special forum
Words of Advice:
1. Read my ‘To submit, or not to submit forum’ – the points from 12 onwards consist of submission tips and guidance ( I have added a couple of points in that last section so you might want to re-read that bit even if you have read it previously)
2. Remember to check your submission statement in good time and if you have loaded the wrong files then contact OBU immediately ( after the deadline may be too late)

Do you have to have paid your annual subscription to be able to submit your RAP?
February 25, 2014 at 9:27 am #159986I wanted to know the same too
March 4, 2014 at 11:14 am #161431Are you an active member of ACCA? If your account has been suspended you will need to
resolve this before submitting a project to Oxford Brookes University.March 6, 2014 at 10:20 am #161612AnonymousInactive- Topics: 0

What if I am removed from the ACCA register AFTER submitting my RAP will I get my OBU degree?
March 6, 2014 at 10:22 am #161614I think the best thing to do is to contact ACCA directly, describe your situation and see what they say. Why you would be removed from the ACCA register?
May 7, 2014 at 6:49 am #167719Good morning @trephena and others
I would like to confirm for my self and for others about appendices:
Eight appendices are allowed. I understand that these appendices could consist of mixture of excel sheet, pdf and docs. Am I right.May 7, 2014 at 6:57 am #167722Hi friends,
Those who have already submitted their raps please share your experience:
1. How many slots are there?
2. Are there multiple slots for appendices, I mean eight appendices are allowed so are there eight slots? and in which format you submitted your appendices? Please come forward, OT is sharing, you receive information and you contribute information.
Good Luck to period 28 candidates (:
May 9, 2014 at 2:08 am #167990All those who will be submitting rap in the last days please make sure you have the logins for the OBU submission account. This advice may sound stupid to all the smart folks here but it is a really useful advice for the dimwits like me :p I forgot my password twice. OBU support team will be really busy in the last days so make sure you have the correct logins now.
May 12, 2014 at 10:03 pm #168572@bassaniobroke – sorry I am not exactly sure how many appendices are allowed. In the past the total number of files you could load was virtually unlimited (up to about 30 I think!) but now you are right, it is about 8 – 10 files total (including the RAP, SLS & Presentation)
The more files you load the more chance of loading the same one twice or missing one out I feel, so personally I would try to combine all of my Appendices into one file or possibly two / three depending on the particular circumstances ( I would go for one for each file format e.g. Word, Excel or pdf for example)
@kingsandqueens – yes a very good tip as it might take time to get a new login especially if it needs someone at OBU to respond (because of their office hours – and to avoid a last minute panic 🙁 So best sorted asap 🙂May 23, 2014 at 8:46 am #170261Hi guys
I uploaded my project but there was an area named References. But my references, as and everyone’s else I supose, are at the end of the word RAP.
So, I just made another Word document and copied there only the reference list.Suggestions??
May 23, 2014 at 8:56 am #170263You’re not supposed to include the references at the end of the project report..
References(including bibliography) file will be a separate .doc fileMay 23, 2014 at 9:16 am #170266Really?
Well my friend it is the first time I am hearing that. And I have read many many threads in here.
Every report I have ever seen in my life, however, has the references at the end.
Anyway, I copied reference list and bibliography in a separate doc just to be covered.May 23, 2014 at 10:25 am #170274No worries guys – as long as you have a reference list somewhere! 🙂 You are both kind of right! @Seth1 yep the norm in the real world is to attach the list to the report and @syedazmat OBU expects / provides for it to be loaded as a separate file. Maybe that way they think students will not forget to load one as they may have created it in a separate doc when writing the report but let’s not fall out about it! 😀
May 17, 2015 at 3:09 pm #246589@Allen if this is a minor detail in a table don’t worry about it. The markers tend to look at whether the Presentation itself would have been effective in terms of content for the time allowed. A wrong figure in a table is unlikely to cause a problem but wrong headings might if the net result is the Information represented is confusing.
May 20, 2015 at 10:11 am #247368@Allen – try to stop worrying about this. Although the maths in the report may be subjected to scrutiny, unless there is a glaringly obvious mistake, the marker will normally not be concerned as the Presentation is more about appearance and how well the information in general comes over.
If your graphs and tables are clear and you have not used dense amounts of text (rather than concise points) then it should pass.
A general comment -not specifically addressed to you – is a mistaken belief than you should not use more than 15 slides. No precise number is stated and 20 good slides with bullet points and just graphs which outline the main findings, is much more likely to pass than a presentation of 15 slides some of which are crammed with about 3 graphs each (as every single ratios is included) and others than are packed with text. This is because realistically 15 ‘heavy’ slides could not be effectively presented in 15 mins whereas 20 lighter ones that would not make the audience work so hard could easily be.
Good luck! 😀

May 20, 2015 at 8:38 pm #247481@faizy7 – . Are you using the correct tab on the Submission Website that is for the Presentation? If you really can’t load it with the .pptx extension then you can load it as an MS Word Doc
In which case I would hurriedly pen a quick paragraph to load as an Appendix called ‘Note to Marker’ along the lines of “Sorry although I tried to load my Presentation file in PowerPoint I encountered a problem and found that I could only upload it as a Word Document.” Then ensure that you copy and paste your slides to a Word document (try to put no more than 3 slides per page as someone has to be able to read it!!)
May 21, 2015 at 3:51 pm #247712I had made an presented my presentation on Keynote..i noticed after submission its missing a graph after converting to PPT (for submission purposes)… there were supposed to be two graphs on the slide showing EPS and now its missing one (only the comparator one is there)..man i tried so hard not to screw up with this submission! what are the odds of me failing? 🙁
May 21, 2015 at 5:49 pm #247748@hassanhere – Very hard for me to say what effect it will have on the end result. Perhaps as I suggested to faizy7 above you need to paste the slides to MS Word. I would suggest that you then contact OBU at the email address in Appendix 8 of the Information Pack and attach the slides in the MS Word document. Point out that it seems that when it converted to PPT it seemed to miss one of the slides out. If you do it now it is obvious that you are not just making an excuse to submit late as you had not finished – just say that you are worried that the marker may mark you down and you want to ensure that you have the best chance of passing.
I suggest you do it now as this weekend is a public holiday in the UK. The OBU Admin staff from my experience are normally quite helpful and do what they can to assist those who have encountered genuine problems in submitting.
May 21, 2015 at 7:31 pm #247773@Trephena..thanks but its complicated..its just a single graph i missed out not the slide itself m not sure now if it messed up on its own or i accidentally deleted it ven reviewing..i already messed up the mentor details earlier (buh OBU sorted it out)..i was so tense cxz of this resubmission and all that i over looked..m gonna let it go..its my fault..shudve looked properly :/ I hope they overlook
May 21, 2015 at 8:42 pm #247778@hassanhere -it is entirely up to you but I think they are used to student last minute problems and stress!. If everything else is fine then I don’t think from my experience that they would fail the Presentation for one thing that is wrong. Usually they will let the odd mistake go unless it is really critical and even then they tend to look for other things that are wrong before they fail. If you have set out your Presentation well then there shouldn’t be a serious problem
May 21, 2015 at 9:34 pm #247790Thanks Trephena for making me feel better…everything else is good I believe.. one can hope for the best and wait I guess…cheers 🙂
November 10, 2015 at 12:54 am #281367PS Trephena,
I noticed this problem recently, some of my links refuse to open when I’m actually done and wanting to submit. JUST OF RECENT! because I have been monitoring them and they have been opening, PS how do I handle such a problem?
