    Hi,

I am just wondering if it is too difficult to study the ACCA from home. And which exam is best to start with (I am exempt from F1-F3).

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Thanks Roxanne

    It depends on your experience/expertise.

Since you’ve enjoyed an exemption, so we can say you have a degree in accounting or a similar field. With this in mind, I can say yes, you can self-study at least some papers.

F4 is to begin with. It’s very simple and non-computational.

    Regards,

    Ali

    Hi Roxanne,

I am in your position – I am studying from home with F1-F3 exemptions.

I have personally chosen to work through the exams in order , I sat F4 & F5 in June 11, and F6 in Dec 11, all of which I successfully passed.

I have taken F7 & F8 in June 12 and am anxiously waiting results!! If all goes well I am intenting to sit F9 in Dec 12.

Unfortunately I didnt hear about Opentuition until about a month before my first exams in 2011, but Since then I have studied using the great online lectures, study notes, and kaplan.

Working in a busy accounts practice I can safely say that up to now F6 has been my easiest subject!

F5 seems to be a tricky one – I found it difficult to study as did a lot of my friends. Luckily I passed it at the first attempt so am glad its out of the way!

I suppose like alisharifazedeh said above – it depends on your experience and expertise and whether you are in practice, management, etc .

    Best of luck

    Hello Roxanne
I also self study, I work in finance although it is a basic role so I’m not able to bring much from my experiance to my studies, it’s hard going, I’m not too accidemic and I have failed the odd one along the way but it doesn’t cost too much.
Hoping to pass my last sitting and move on to the final five P papers so fingers crossed for tomorrow. As for order of papers I have sat them in order finding F5 and F6 easy and struggled with F8 and F9 but we are all different.
