whats the difference between kaplan and bpp study texts?
which is better?October 17, 2011 at 2:21 pm #88762I used Kaplan for F4 & F5 for home study for June exams this year and passed both exams very well. Im using BPP for F6 in December as I bought them second hand from a friend who sat in June.
However I am returning to Kaplan for the remainder of my exams as I personally found them straight forward and user friendly. Several people have said that BPP go into a lot more detail than perhaps necessary, but Im finding them ok.
RegardsOctober 18, 2011 at 4:45 am #88763Bpp books contain more theory , way more theory then kaplan. Language of BPP is more technical then Kaplan . Practical examples are often very lenghty and more complicated then in Kaplan.
Kaplan books are written in a bit simplier language, many heavy theoretical bits are ommitted.
However, practice shows that it’s better to combine those books, because with BPP you can be sure that you have every information necessary and with kaplan you can be sure that you will understand that information.
Otherwise, if people have to choose then traditional advice is to study theoretical subjects from bpp and practical from kaplan ..
But i need to mention that ..i’ve been always using both books from the very start and always enjoyed kaplan …but i’m very dissapointed with their f7 and f8 books. They are just not as clear as previous ones i used.
hope books for further subjects will be better.October 18, 2011 at 12:07 pm #88764BPP is good in explaining theories and giving lengthy examples.
Kaplan is good in putting the matter with small examples, diagrams and easy formulae.
for me, first i read using kaplan textbook and same chapter using BPP textbook. then for revision again i revise using kaplan text.
BPP style of presenting a matter is superb but very lengthy.October 22, 2011 at 8:44 pm #88765BPP=Detailllllleeeedd + Elaabbbooooraaated
Kaplan=Concise + straight to the point
choose the book which suits your learning.
October 22, 2011 at 10:43 pm #88766Kaplan is wayyyy much easier to comprehend compared to BPP. BPP is too technical but i like their revision kit coz the questions are pretty challenging. So, read kaplan and do the exercise in BPP. 🙂

December 17, 2012 at 11:30 am #88768But what about GTG? Can you please give me an insight on how GTG study texts are? Are they like Kaplan (concise and to the point which ensure you pass)
December 18, 2012 at 5:35 pm #88769Hey, bear me, a favor by commenting on my following career plan. I’m in Pakistan and would be pursuing the ACCA and the associated BSc degree from OBU. After clearing all the papers, as an ACCA affiliate I would apply for a Masters Program on the basis of my BSc in UK or European country. After the Masters I could avail the opportunity of getting a post graduation work permit and could settle abroad. Feasible or long shot?
June 13, 2013 at 7:38 pm #132069gtg are the best! kinda of a mixture between bpp and kaplan so u have the perfect book!
August 8, 2016 at 11:45 pm #332124Kaplan is mind mapping,
Easy to comprehend
Solid concept
Clear & simple language
Structural and logical layout based on logic sequence
Clear and understandable examples!
Clear Formulas in a clear big font so the eye catches with no struggle
Yes, big Volume book but very easy to read and cover the whole book within a short space of time because it is straight to the point.BPP is the opposite of the above ! Struggle to get the info and you will need to read again and again, concepts are scattered everywhere, small font less mind-mapping, too much in one page, poor chapter summary etc
I Studied F3 Passed 1st-time pass with BPP, however, I took long time to be prepared due to work and self-study and study material were not helpful
F2 I started with BPP and got advice from a friend to use Kaplan I can see the difference.
Any student like to pass the exam with ease, so you know now what to choose !
Post for the public benefitMay 1, 2017 at 8:34 pm #384511I like BPP than Kaplan.Bpp is more detailed & techanical.
April 4, 2019 at 5:08 pm #511212How to pay for bpp book? I do not have the barclay card.
April 15, 2019 at 2:33 pm #512872I prefer Kaplan books which are not theoretical. And get straight to points.

Please reply i am in vainOpentuition notes + Opentuition lecture videos + An ACCA Approved Content Provider Exam kit
These 3 should be enough.

November 14, 2021 at 9:14 am #640606First time using Bpp (P2 ebook), I have never been so frustrated in my life. I will never buy their books again. Kaplan is the way to go for me. The book is not user-friendly, very technical and all over the place. I keep referring to the Kaplan workbook and sometimes investopedia for better understanding, which is time consuming especially when you are under pressure.
