Hello All,
I am tax professional from Turkey. I have passed SBL exam and now attending SBR exam, however I do not have much experience regarding reporting due to my area of expertise. Also I was exempted from financial reporting exam because I am already a CPA in Turkey.
Do you think it is enough if I study the SBR syllabus in order to pass the SBR or shall I first study financial reporting and that start studying SBR?
Thank you Kind Regards…
I am guessing that you have studied IFRS as part of your CPA. In that case you should be fine to jump straight into SBR.
SBR is primarily a written exam whereas FR concentrates on fiddly numbers, so the emphasis is different.
As you study each topic download a set of real financial statements (e.g. Marks and Spencer) to see how the accounting works in practice.
And well done for passing SBL!
