Hi..
I and an acca student and joined in June 2023. I initially transfered over from the pre med field. I have passed my F1 ,F2 F3, examinations and fully completed the syllabus for F4 which I’ve decided to leave for later. I recently attempted F5 and F7. In March but failed both those exams. I really don’t know what to do right now. It feels as if I am caving in between how I am going to tell my parents and my teachers that I failed both of them.I feel like I’ve let so many people down. And most of them are so invested in my field that they ask about my achievements the second results are launched.i honestly did not want this day to come.I also do not know what to do moving forward and how to improve my score considering I am also 25% through prep of F8 and F9 for a June attempt. Should I drop my F8 and f9 prep and go back to f7 and f5 or give all 4 in June. Not many people guide me when it comes to these things so it’s been really hard just trying to do it all on my own.i just need some advice please. What would you do different in your second attempt. ?April 15, 2024 at 11:13 am #704036Welcome to OpenTuition!
Now might be a good time to reflect on your planned journey https://opentuition.com/acca/plan-your-acca-exam-journey
For example, rather than put off LW, you might sit that will waiting on results to session exams (assuming you plan to do on-demand ENG or GLO).
You say nothing of your circumstances, whether you are working or studying full time. Unless studying full time (and I mean full time), I would not recommend that any student attempt more than one CBE session exam at a time (at least not until they have a history of clearing exams at a first attempt).
I would definitely advise that you resit PM and/or FR in June and resume your studies of other exam after that. To be honest, to be only 25% through prep for a June attempt is too not long enough.
You need a “study plan” NOW – you can download a pdf here https://www.accaglobal.com/gb/en/student/exam-support-resources/fundamentals-exams-study-resources/f7/compass-planning.html It has an illustration to prepare for a resit.
You need to take advantage of all the resouces that are available to you – starting with understanding your performance in March https://www.accaglobal.com/gb/en/student/exam-entry-and-administration/exam-results/exam-performance.html
April 15, 2024 at 11:20 am #704037What you should do differently in a second attempt depends on what your “My Exam Performance” reveals about your strengths and where you need to make improvements.
You can ask as many questions as you like of me on this “General” forum, I will always respond with advice.
The key to success in ACCA exams is “practice, practice, practice” – so the exam does not hold any surprises for you and you can manage your time effectively to answer every part of every question.
How many “exams’ worth” of revision question practice did you do for your first attempt? How much of that was to time? Are you self-marking the Qs you attempt in the CBE platform? Did you take advantage of ACCA’s Pre-March 2024 mock exams and debriefs? https://www.accaglobal.com/gb/en/student/exam-entry-and-administration/prepare-for-exams/InSession-exam-countdown-emails/mock-exam-event.html If not, you should plan to take advantage of the Pre-June mocks (I will publicise on this forum when available).
