Hi Ken,
Can you please advise if there is any difference between a strategic alliance and a strategic partnership.
In the September 2016 exam we were asked to analyse the attractiveness of a strategic partnership for the company in question with a company already in the new market but I referred more to a strategic alliance.
Mentioned things such as sharing resources(+), getting new ideas (+) access to new market (+), their knowledge of the very cut throat competition as already in the country (+), loss of competitive edge if sharing ideas (-) reputation damage if they have bad press etc (-) and creation of future competitor (-).
Hoping they are the same thing and the above ideas of its attractiveness were applicable to the question.
Thanks in advance.
To my mind they are the same thing.

Thanks Ken. I have never heard of it being referred to as a strategic partnership in any of the notes I read. Assumed it was the same thing so thanks for confirming.
