Is the Purposive Approach an actual rule of interpretation or is it an example of the Mischief Rule? If it is a separate rule what exactly differentiates the two??
Also, I just want to take this opportunity to THANK YOU and your team for providing such great resources, I’ve used this site for all my exams so far and intend on continue doing so, without them I would have totally given up on my ACCA journey already, so a heartful and sincere THANK YOU is due to you all…
The Mischief Rule is an example of the Purposive Rule rather than the other way round
Also within the Purposive Rule is Ejusdem Generis, Noscitur a Sociis, Expressio Unius …
Thank you for those kind words – let’s hope we can continue to assist you in your journey to becoming ACCA
