    Could you explain what’s the difference between the mischief rule and the purposive rule?

    The mischief rule is an example of the purposive rule as also are the rules noscitur a sociis and expressio unius est exclusio alterius

    The purposive rule simply states that statute shall be interpreted as it was intended to be interpreted and those others are merely examples of how that principle operates
